Having recently established himself on the Parcours des Arts et du Patrimoine with his Loizo illustration shop, Laurent has been devoted to art since his early childhood. His first mentor was none other than Gabriel Cotel, a renowned sculptor and fine arts graduate, who created the Massillon statue in Hyères. At his side, Laurent discovered the workings of colors, perspectives, proportions, and all the codes that govern the work of art. Dedicated and passionate, he won the first prizes in the city of Hyères at the age of 10.
His career would focus on architecture, which he studied in Marseille, before moving on to advertising communications. He was at the heart of the municipality of Le Lavandou, for which he designed neo-retro posters and illustrations that covered the city's popular events and festivals.
It was following the first lockdown and the encouragement of his loved ones that Laurent began to reflect on his artistic emancipation. His entourage encouraged him to invest in the boutique reserved for him at the Parcours des Arts, and it was following the loss of a loved one that he left his fears and doubts behind.
He dedicates himself to his shop, unleashing all his inspiration on his illustrations, and generating enthusiasm throughout France. His talent is even appreciated by Jean Dujardin, who requests his work and shares it on his personal social networks. This opportunity will allow Laurent to work for Paris or even Zurich. But he has a local and regional attachment above all, and this is felt in his creations and collaborations. We admire in his illustrations the most beautiful landscapes of our seaside towns, such as the emblematic squares, the statutes, or even the boulevards of the region. These representations stimulate our affection, as familiar as sentimental, for our villages, and remind us of all the memories we have traveled.
Graphically, Laurent draws inspiration from the colorful and naive journalistic posters of the 1950s, and from artists like Kiraz.
It is therefore from his life journey, his region, his encounters and his iconic inspirations that Laurent will assert his pencil stroke and develop his style.
Creative and generous, he does not limit himself to offering his printed illustrations, and declines them on different supports made in France: table art with mugs, textiles with tote bags, cushions, and beach towels.
All of his illustrations are available in several formats, allowing residents and tourists alike to collect each of Loizo's illustrations.
In this line, Laurent offers his artistic style for personalization, and brings color to your own project, whether it is professional with a hotel, a farewell party, or guest houses, or whether it is particular for your wedding anniversaries, your vacations etc. He will listen this time to your inspirations by being attentive to the details and emotions that you want to emphasize.
